An example of Student Collaboration

Here was a great event organized by students from various schools, an inspiring example of collaboration:

This is an incredible collaboration between the youth of over twelve schools in the area:

I am the leader of the Free the Children club at Terman Middle School .  We are a group of seventh graders who strive to make a difference in the world, and are determined to be the change.  Our goal is to build a school in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world, through a non-profit organization—Free the Children. We have previously fundraised through several bake sales, and now want to take the next step by organizing a youth benefit concert involving local youth united by a common goal.

The benefit concert will feature a variety of dance groups, contemporary bands, vocalists, and classical musicians.  Also, the benefit concert will involve performers and volunteers from over twelve schools: Terman, Gunn, Paly, Saratoga, J.L.S., Jordan, Menlo-Atherton, Menlo, Castilleja, Keys, Blach, Peterson and more.

We are local youth united, set on making a difference in the world.  Through the concert, we emphasize that youth have the power to change the world for the better.

The benefit concert is on May 21st from 3:00 to 4:30 pm at the Palo Alto Jewish Community Center, Cultural Art Hall. Minimum suggested donation: $10. All proceeds go towards building a school in Sierra Leone through Free the Children.

Be the Change,
