Creativity and the Creative Process Across Art, Science, and Religion
A list of projects and lesson plans I teach and am willing to share:
I have a keen understanding of both the myths and realities surrounding creativity and the creative process that I am passionate about sharing with others.
I am so stoked you signed up for this network. I have been thinking a lot about creativity lately. It is so obvious that our students in this country are not being taught to be creative and it is equally obvious that we need creative problem solvers. Even if you don't want to blame education (No Child Left Behind, budget cuts, etc in the public schools where Noah goes) there is a decrease in creativity. I believe, due to the high saturation of media into kids lives. No longer do kids spend as much time imagining what something looks like - they can see on You Tube - less time is spent out in nature, less time making up games to entertain themselves, etc.
And people often believe in the myth that some people are scientific and others creative. Truth is scientists need to be creative. I already integrate art into my curriculum but I need to make a bigger focus on creativity in science I think - problem solving, experiment design, etc. I would love to collaborate with you on this.
Two ideas: Once I get more people signed up on this site I would love if you could write a blog regarding creativity in education - especially related to the focus of this network. Maybe we can time that with an ECOS meeting focused on the theme as well - next Fall maybe.
